Yoga at The Healing Studio

Kaiut Yoga is an inclusive form of yoga meant to unwind accumulated aches and pains.  From the Kaiut Yoga International website, “Unlike most yoga that stretches muscles in extraordinary ways, Kaiut Yoga works from the joints. As such, it has a dramatic impact in countering the harmful effects of modern living - where most of us sit most of the day - as well as the harmful impact to our bodies of consistent movement patterns such as frequent running or cycling, playing a certain sport for years, or our compensating behaviors for old sports or other injuries.”  Kaiut is primarily done on the floor, holding postures for longer periods of time bringing circulation to stagnant areas of the body.  The practice is “simple, but certainly not easy.”

Candlelight Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra. Relax into a candlelight 90-minute yin session to aid in restoring and maintaining the natural mobility of the joints. Yin’s emphasis on stillness and silence promotes a deeply meditative experience, which enhances the body’s energetic flow to promote health and support emotional equilibrium. The evening will be sealed in with a Yoga Nidra practice.

Yoga Nidra is the practice of ‘yogic sleep’ aka the magical place between awake and sleep. In this state of deep relaxation and guided awareness of the body we cultivate vitality and leave you feeling restored and awakened mind, body and spirit. **Please bring any additional props you wish to have, blankets, pillows, bolsters etc.

Laura Inbody, Yoga Teacher, CYT 200 Hour

Laura has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. After her very first class she experienced a shift in her body that felt like an awakening.  Walking to her car, that first day, she stood more upright and centered than the hour earlier.  This exposure kept her coming back to the mat exploring Ashtanga, Iyengar and more recently Kaiut Yoga. In Kaiut she has found a particularly inclusive style of yoga that is accessible to anyone, even, and maybe especially the more tightly wound of us.  With a background in psychology, nutrition and natural healing, Laura affords her students an all-encompassing approach to their practice and life.  She is known for her wonderful humor and empathy which inspires her students to practice with kindness and acceptance towards oneself.
