What is Mindful Meditation? 

Mindfulness meditation is a mental training practice that involves focusing your mind on your experiences (like your own emotions, thoughts and sensations) in the present moment. Mindfulness meditation can involve breathing practice, mental imagery, awareness of the body and mind, and muscle and body relaxation. One of the original standardized programs for mindfulness meditation is the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program, developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD. MBSR focuses on awareness and attention to the present. Other simplified, secular mindfulness meditation interventions have been increasingly incorporated into medical settings to treat stress, pain, insomnia and other health conditions.

Mission: Spirituality is something not reliant on religion, theology, or dogma- rather, it is belief in our interconnectedness and in a loving force greater than ourselves. My mission is provide you with tools that will empower you on the journey we call the Human Experience. My goal is provide you with an experience based on my years of training and empathic  abilities to help you find your voice, vision and center through meditation. 

Bio: My spiritual path began at an early age of 11 in Buffalo NY. My Italian Grandmother would remind me that the religions and faiths of the world were the beads around the creator's neck. She encouraged me to be in nature as much as possible because there, I would find the shadow of god's face and all the answers if I sat still. I became interested in Shamanism, Soul Retrieval, and Reiki- becoming certified and eventually set up practice. Even with all of these wonderful tools I was feeling at odds with myself and needed a grounding rod to help with my empathic abilities. Enter Mindfulness Meditation. After my first 10 days of silent retreat and lots of patience & acceptance I began to feel the power of awareness and how to pay attention to thoughts and emotions without judgement or giving the proverbial "grade on how I did the meditation". The results were life-changing and so I began my integration of mindfulness and presence into my work. I have been in the mind-body-spirit publishing industry for over 17 years and have met and studied with some of today's leading teachers in the field. I am currently a student in the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program under the direction of Jack Kornfield & Tara Brach.
